I've cancelled my Amazon order. I'd hoped to have the book in early November to complete some projects as Christmas gifts. Unfortunately, I've received word this morning from Amazon.ca that my book won't ship now until January 9th or 10th. The book is over 30% cheaper online vs. in store - that's why I prefer to shop Amazon. Despite the high Canadian dollar (we're around $1.10 this morning compared to the US dollar), book prices have not been dropping in stores here to reflect this. Call me cheap, but I'm a single parent here. Still, I'm happy to learn that the Scarf Style book and Crochet Jewelry title I'd ordered just after I'd ordered Bag Style should arrive here no later than Friday. :)

It's just not right, NOT RIGHT at all and it makes me sad you don't have the book! Don't give up, someone somewhere will have one for the right price.

I have had luck with Overstock.com, they quarantee to beat Amazon's price. Also, Barnes and Noble is close to Amazon's price, I often use half.com and get things in 3-4 days. Good luck!! Be susre to cancel Amazon as they told me the same thing, I ordered from Barned and Noble and got 2 books.

Have you tried Indigo? I read recently that they are reducing book prices by 10-20 percent because of Canada's soaring dollar. Here's the article:

Sweetie, I'm so sorry to read this. I know how it is when we want something. I had to wait a few weeks to receive my book from Amazon.com. I do understand you cancelling. You may not want to hear this, but for now start with the knitting needle knitting bag. I'm working on this one as well. It is very easy to knit up. I hope something comes through soon.
You probably know that the Knitting Needle Knitting Bag pattern can be found on the Knitting Daily free patterns site. As chele suggested, it might be a place to start.

Janie!!!!I've got news for you....I had the same thing happening to me from Amazon.ca. They kept sending me email's saying there's a delay in sending out the book. Finally I said screw it! I cancelled the order, and I thought I would reorder it from Amazon.ca and it came back also saying a eta of Jan. 2/08. So in hindsight now I wondered why I didn't do this in the first place....I ordered from Amazon.com. I saved even more money, as it was $14.93. I think it was $17 something from Amazon.ca. Anyway it's been shipped, and it's eta is Nov.28. I hope this helps in some way.
It's here!! I got the book. I can't believe it. I ordered it from Amazon.com on Nov.3 and it arrived this afternoon Nov. 13.
